Footing Reinforcing Cage
We work with Telecommunication Infrastructure providers on a range of projects across Queensland. Here, we are featuring a Footing Reinforcing Cage that was installed as part of the footings in a Telecommunications Tower.
The reinforcing cage was fabricated from deformed reinforcing bar for the frame.
The cage included a hold down bolt cage using machined high tensile hold down bolts.
After fabrication was complete we organized delivery to site.
Due to the size of the cage, it was necessary for us to sort an out of hours wide load delivery with a police escort.
At the same time we organized lifting into position in the footing excavation using a crane on site.

We weld using the following methods
- MIG – used in the workshop as the most cost effective fabrication method for mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium components.
- TIG – used with lighter gauge stainless steel and aluminium fabrications but can also be needed for welding aluminium castings, etc.
- Electrode – used for welding situations where the area to be welded can’t be easily cleaned or for site welding where wind conditions can make MIG and TIG welding impractical. Also used for welding the likes of cast iron.
- Silver Solder – commonly used for brass fittings, copper tube, etc and is also useful for joining dissimilar metals such as brass to stainless steel.
