Onsite Welding

Site Welding Repairs of Cracks in Turret Mount in Forestry:

  • Swivelling turret on log handling machine in forestry area had fatigue cracking
  • Travelled to site with equipment to perform site welding repairs
  • Found extent of cracking using dye penetrant method of non-destructive testing
  • Ground out welds and prepared for welding repairs
  • Preheated parent material prior to welding
  • Welded multiple welds for strength and reinforcement
  • Painted all welds and bare steel after welding competed for rust prevention
Access Stairs for Water Reservoir - Better Engineering

Steel Fabrication

Access Stairs for Water Reservoir:

  • Fabricated and hot dip galvanized steelwork for access stairs for a water reservoir
  • Steelwork items included support frame, braces, stairs, platforms, handrails, access door, security mesh and all necessary fasteners
  • Steelwork fabricated to Australian Standard AS1554.1 GP
  • Project included doing workshop drawings
  • Project involved installation including delivery to site by crane truck
  • Installation also included supply of crane and elevated work platform on site
Reboring Linkage Rod after Replacing Worn Bush - Better Engineering

Machining

Rebore Linkage Rod After Replacing Worn Bush:

  • Repaired linkage rod off large mobile materials handling equipment
  • Linkage had worn bush
  • Removed worn bush by heating linkage and pressing out existing bush
  • Machined replacement bronze bush
  • Shrink fitted new bush by heating linkage and pressing in new bush
  • Bored replacement bush back to diameter
