Safety Guarding

Call the team at Better Engineering on 07 3265 2655 for more information on Safety Guarding.

We are specialists in manufacturing and installing safety guarding in commercial and industrial facilities.

Safety guarding is required to protect from falls or moving equipment. Often guarding is a permanent fixture (where access is not needed at any time) or where access is required, guarding is often interlocked or able to be opened via a locking mechanism.

Common industrial activities that require guarding include:

  • Pressing and stamping
  • Milling
  • Cutting
  • Drilling and machinery
  • Packaging and palletising
  • Injection moulding
  • Conveyors

Guarding is often required to be designed to eliminate the risk of items or parts being ejected at speed from the enclosed area.

Guarding is also required in some cases to protect workers from extreme heat or cold.

We can provide you with a Quote based on a site measure, or alternatively work off your plans.

Generally, we manufacture safety  guarding to comply with AS4024 – Safety of Machinery Part 1803, Safety Distances and Safety Gaps.

Some of the safety guarding projects we have completed include:

  • Fabrication and installation of Caged ladders
  • Fabrication and installation of gates and panels for limiting access to warehouses, work areas, and machine operation areas
  • Fabrication of gates and panels for sewerage treatment plants and other facilities
  • Fabrication and installation of guarding for conveyors, robots, and other moving machinery
  • Fabrication and installation of restriction covers that are bolted and fixed into place, or hinged to allow opening.

We work with steel or aluminium. Where we work with steel, Hot Dip Galvanising is often specced. We can supply items powdercoated or painted, depending of the specification.
